Travel mugs lets you make a statement, in addition to serving warm coffee.
Travel Mugs
When taking coffee, good quality mugs are necessary if one is to
completely enjoy the experience. Below are things to consider when choosing a mug to buy:
Travel mugs are mostly made from two common materials
i.e. plastic and stainless steel. Stainless
steel is costlier, but it is sturdier. Plastic mugs easily crack when dropped. They can’t keep your beverage
hot for long. The stainless steel mugs can keep your drink hot for 1 hour.
Stainless steel travel mugs in comparison to plastic mugs are much easier to clean. Plastic mugs have a
tendency to have coffee residues staining the insides and brim of the mug. Over time, the plastic absorbs the
coffee, and that accumulation will have an effect on the taste of the beverage.
For those who still prefer the plastic travel mugs they should
ensure that its liner is made from stainless steel. One benefit is that you won’t be able to feel the warmth
on the outer surface of the mug and you can choose from different colors available.
Some mugs come with snap-on-lids that loosen up if this mug is dropped or flips over. Hence, mugs with covers that
are screw-on are a lot better. The positioning of the sip hole is also very important to determine the ease of
drinking from the mug while on the move. The most common include flap-over type that snaps shut, or the sliding
type either remains open or closed until you move it, and the press and sip type design.
Mugs designed for travelers are available in different sizes. The smaller travel mug (8oz) or bigger mugs, (16 to
20 oz.). Choose a mug that suits your personal tastes and requirements, and take care of it to prolong its life.
Don’t use a dishwasher to clean, instead hand wash the mug. This is because in the dishwasher, residues of the soap
are left in either the lid cover or in the mug.
